BENNING’S GREEN TINT PATTY PAN

Heirloom. “Benning's Green Tint is super tender! These plants are great producers and the squash themselves are quite pretty. First developed in 1914. This is a great all around heirloom summer squash variety, adaptable to any home organic garden.”

MUSQUEE D’HIVER DE PROVENCE PUMPKIN

Heirloom. “Deeply cut lobes. Musquee d'Hiver de Provence also happens to have very rich, sweet, deep orange, finely flavoured flesh that is never watery. The seeds can be roasted, and the cured fruits will keep into the following spring. Give this pumpkin room to grow and very fertile soil, and it will return the favour with 20 lb  fruits with thick walls and incredible storage potential. When ripe, the fruits change from dark green to a buff like salmon colour.”

JUMBO PINK BANANA SQUASH

100 year old heirloom. “The salmon pink skin covers smooth yellow-orange flesh that makes beautiful pies. Pick when less than 30" long for best eating quality. Left to grow, they can get as big as 70 lb in weight and over 48" long. This squash has a vining habit, and plants get big, so provide lots of room. Two to three spectacular fruits per plant. These are terrific storage squash, and will last all winter if kept in a cool, dark place.”

SONCA ORANGE BUTTERNUT

OP. “By far the sweetest and smooth butternut we have ever tasted. This variety is Hungarian Heirloom and is commercially grown there. It's name translates to 'ham pumpkin' Turns a beautiful orange when fully mature.” seeds from Good Earth Farms.

ROUGE V’IF D’ETAMPE PUMPKIN

“HEIRLOOM. Cinderella Pumpkin! Beautiful flat shape. Amazing thick yellow flesh great for pie or soup. Early maturing. Old french heirloom from 1800's.” STRIKING orange skin. seeds from Good Earth Farms.

SMALL SUGAR PUMPKIN

OP. “This is the premier pumpkin for eating. Fruits grow to about 8in / 20cm across with sugary-sweet flesh that’s big on flavour. The tiny seed cavity means there’s lots of flesh for pies, bread and other cooking. Just perfect for pumpkin pies. Stores well.”

SPAGHETTI SQUASH

OP. “The pale yellow, oval fruits grow to 10" on long, productive vines. Boil or bake the whole fruits, and then cut lengthwise down the middle. It's then easy to fork out the fibrous interior that looks just like pasta. Enjoy it simply seasoned as is, or topped with your favourite pasta sauce. The yellow rind of this squash is smooth and very hard. After the fruits have ripened on the vines, give them a quick wipe down with a diluted vinegar solution. If the skin is not nicked, the fruits will last for months.”

HONEY BOAT DELICATA

OP. “Longish, nearly cylindrical fruits with green bands over copper/tan skins. The flesh is deep, rich orange and very sweet. The plants grow into large bushes without much sprawl. The breeding on this variety dates back to Dr. Bagget at Oregon State University, and has been refined for several generations.”
