CUCUMBERS & MELONS

TASTY GREEN CUCUMBER

Our favourite slicing cucumber for over 6 years. vigorous vines bearing long English cucumber fruits up to 12" in length. Allow the sweet tasting, burpless fruits to hang as they grow by providing a strong trellis for each plant.

LILLIE MAE WHITE CUCUMBER

Sweet, crisp, and delicious, large pickle size. Common in the Southern US, adapted to the Pacific Northwest. Protect from birds!

NATIONAL PICKLING CUCUMBER

Grows to 6” in length. For use in all types of pickling. Light green in colour. best picked at 3”x2”. Monoecious.

LEMON CUCUMBER

Attractive heirloom cucumbers are small and round with lemon coloured skin. The lime-green flesh is very mild, sweet and never bitter. Very nice for slicing and easy to digest. Lemon cucumber seeds produce a vigorous long vine that does well on a trellis or fence.

CORENTINE PICKLING CUCUMBERS

Very early, improved European Gherkin. Developed for the eastern European market, which demands high quality gherkins with slow seed development. Smooth skin gherkin that stays crisp long after picking. Suited to protected culture in tunnels and open field culture.

HOPE MELONS

Sweet, cantaloupe-type melon developed at Hope Farm Organics in Prince George. The fruits develop to 2-3 lbs and slips off the vine when ripe. Best grown under cover. 60 days to maturity.

DIVA CUCUMBERS

HYBRID. Crisp and bitter free. One of the sweetest in our trials. Diva produces 4”, slender and smooth, glossy green fruit. Contains few seeds. Semi-bush plants are adapted to most North American zones.

CUCAMELON

Also known as the Mexican Sour Gherkin or Minnesota Mouse Melons. The fruits are amazingly cute and novel. The plants are beautiful and whimsical. They have a great crunch and lemony-cucumber flavour.


WINTER SQUASH

MUSQUEE D’HIVER DE PROVENCE PUMPKIN

The deeply cut lobes and ribs of this gorgeous French heirloom distinguish it as one of the most decorative of all winter squash. Musquee d'Hiver de Provence also happens to have very rich, sweet, deep orange, finely flavoured flesh that is never watery.

JUMBO PINK BANANA SQUASH

heirloom that has been around for over 100 years. The smooth, salmon pink skin covers fibreless yellow-orange flesh that makes beautiful pies. They can get as big as 70 lb in weight and over 48" long.

SONCA ORANGE BUTTERNUT

This variety is an Hungarian Heirloom and is commercially grown there. It's name translates to 'ham pumpkin' Turns a beautiful orange when fully mature, often in storage.

ROUGE V’IF D’ETAMPE PUMPKIN

Brilliant red-orange pumpkin from France.
Produces large, flattened, heavily-ribbed fruits.
Prized in France for its yellow-orange flesh, which
is used in soups and pastries.

SMALL SUGAR PUMPKIN

Pie pumpkin with rich orange flesh. Good for cooking. 7” in diameter.

SPAGHETTI SQUASH

Standard open-pollinated variety. Produces constant yields of 4-5lb, 10x6” pale yellow coloured fruits with
yellow flesh. Large vigorous vine.

DELICATA

Sweet and mild tasting squash with thin, edible skin. oblong, 1-2lb, pale yellow fruit with green stripes. very sweet like sweet potatoes. Fruit average 7-9" long by 3". Allow the fruits to ripen fully on the vines but harvest before frost. Delicata squash require little to no curing post-harvest, and store for about 3 months when properly stored.

ACORN SQUASH

Table Queen acorn squash seeds are a reliable old heirloom dating back to 1913. Dark green skins and a pronounced acorn shape.Table Queen has excellent storage ability. The long vines are prolific and exceptionally early.

UCHIKI KURI

Unusual bright red-orange squash with excellent taste. Teardrop shaped, 3-5lb fruits have smooth skin and almost no ribbing. Sweet, creamy yellow flesh
with a nutty flavour. Excellent in soups. Semi-bush vines. Very uniform strain from Japan. Also known as ‘Orange Hokkaido’.

WALTHAM BUTTERNUT

Popular winter squash variety. uniform and productive. Medium-large, 12”, blocky pear shaped squash have tan-yellow skin. Dark orange flesh with fine flavour. Excellent keeper.
