OTHER VEGGIE STARTS

AVALANCHE SNOW PEAS

OP “Early, large, flat pods. Produces 5”, medium-dark green, 1” wide pods. Semi-leafless, 24-28” vines need minimal support. Avalanche is easy to harvest, stays crisp, tender, and sweet after picking.”

SUGAR ANN SNAP PEAS

OP “Earliest, best tasting, dwarf variety. Plump edible, 2 1/2" long pods held high on 18" vines that require no support. Heavy first and second pickings.”

GRUNDY-PERFECT ARROW SHELLING PEA

OP “Tasty and sweet. Tolerates cool and warm conditions when older varieties go bitter. Consistently produces high yields of large 4” pods averaging 9-10 medium sized, dark
green peas.”

RED RUSSIAN KALE

“This variety is easily recognized by its richly colored burgundy stems and purple tinted leaves. They are flat and toothed like an oak leaf with an overall dark green color and deep red veins. Red Russian kale offers a mild nutty flavor that is slightly sweet and earthy with a hearty texture.”

WESTLANDSE CURLY GREEN KALE

“Orginal Dutch variety used for Boerenkool. Fine, curled, medium-green leaves on 32-40” plants. Widely used variety in Europe. Excellent taste. Over winters well. Can be grown as a baby leaf.”

BRIGHT LIGHTS SWISS CHARD

Our favourite variety of Chard and one of our favourite Richard Thompson songs!
